Mintaro Maze was planted by the Morris Family in 1995 on a cold rainy Autumn day, Michael, Sharon, Jacinta and Tyson along with a group of willing friends started to hand plant over 800 Castlewelland Gold Conifers.
The maze was watered for the first three years, the fourth year it was not watered so the trees could start establishing independence. The maze has only been watered by rainfall since the year 2000.
The maze has been open to the public since 28th October 2000, it has survived two droughts and vandalism in 2018. Today, the maze has lost a small percentage of its living conifers which has been replaced with slate walls and more recently a section of metal sheet art work by Exact Cut.
The Morris Family continues to add and update the Maze continuously, please follow us on Facebook and check in with the website for updates.
